The best laid plans...
We were really looking forward to welcoming everyone to this year's Family Fall Festival, but unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel the event due to the affects of Hurricane Isaias.
Part of building community is caring for one another, and that includes keeping the safety and comfort of our guests, vendors, performers, and volunteers in mind.
(And would you believe it? Two years ago, we also had to cancel because of the effects Hurricane Helene. What are the odds we'd find ourselves having this conversation again? We're beginning to think Mother Nature has something against our Fall Festival!)
The outdoor atmosphere is a big part of what makes this vent special, and we wanted to make sure we were providing the best experience possible.
To everyone who planned to attend, volunteered their time, or signed up to share their talents and businesses with us: thank you. We appreciate your support and were disappointed that we didn't get to celebrate together.
Stay tuned for future events at Beaumont Presbyterian Church. And next year, we'll be ready to welcome you back for another Family Fall Festival!
Until then, stay safe and dry!
No one in this world should be hungry. That's why the CROP Hunger Walk is more than just a gathering of people in a place. We're part of a movement, taking steps and raising funds together to provide meals for those in our own community who need them - and supporting programs that create greater food security in communities all around the world.
All Hunger Fighters are welcomed to WALK with the Beaumont Family on Sunday, Oct. 11th.
Registration/Check-in begins at 3 PM.
• Bring canned chicken, salmon, tuna, veggies and fruit, boxed milk, or whole grain cereals to donate at God's Pantry Food station.
• Visit the 'make a poster to carry' station, purchase a Walk T-shirt to wear and buy a McAlister's FUNdraiser Tea Pass while meeting 'new and old' friends!
• After a brief send-off blessing, the 2.7m route via Ashland Park and Kenwick neighborhoods will begin promptly at 3:25 PM.
